As we pretty much kicked off the whole Portuguese Surf Camp & School history right here in Lagos it really is a testimony to all Lacobrigenses that we still remain in the guts of the town.
It is a known fact in the entire Algarve region - Lagos - is the champion of retaining it´s authentic traditional feel - with endless clean cobble stone ( calçada ) streets and it´s immediate connection to multiple beaches just a walk away. History, Nature, Cliff tops walks , Culture centres, Grottos, buzzing Restaurants , Bars and a touch of Nightlife. ohh and waves ?

Does LAGOS have waves ?
Lagos and it´s immediate surfing beaches of Meia Praia, Porto da Mos & Praia da Luz receive lush warm Mediterranean swells from the East known as Levantes during the summer months and also any larger swells coming from the Altantic via North , West or South West directions.
It pumps more regularly than you think !!
The bonus of staying at The Surf Experience HQ is the surf is a stone´s throw away.
When surfing in Meia Praia you can see your accommodation !!

What happens if there´s NO waves in LAGOS ?
When the Lagos area is flat we´ll head to the West Coast but being based in Lagos taking the road split either to Sagres or Aljezur direction is incredibly convenient !! In the summer months it is quite regular to head to these stunning beaches.

The Benefits of THE SURF EXPERIENCE central accommodation options and dynamic compared to other camps.
As surf tourism has developed and grown so has it´s options. Rather than migrating to outside the town or into the country we have choosen to stick with the town that gave us our soul. The community and friendship levels here that are so dear.
As opposed to the " chalet" or " villa " feel of other camps, whereby you may have a risk of sharing your surf holiday with people you may not like or get along with - staying with us completely switches this up.
You are totally flexible to join in the social parts or walk out your door and do as you wish and ironically brings us all together most evenings anyway !!

The Unique Charm of Lagos, Surf Culture & Matchas !!
Surfing in Lagos is not just about the waves; it’s about the lifestyle. The town’s laid-back vibe, combined with its rich history and welcoming people, creates a unique atmosphere. Surfers , Travellers, Holiday Makers and Locals alike often find themselves drawn into local festivals, music events, and community gatherings that happen year-round.
The Bar , Cafe and Restaurant scene here is unmatched with it´s combination of local and traditional kitchens & bakeries versus the new hipster Coffee shops and cutting edge world cuisine - IT´S LITERALLY ALL RIGHT THERE and we´re here to help direct...
This connection between surf and culture makes Lagos more than a destination; it becomes a place to return to again and again in itself. We are so lucky so have watched it mature into this incredible playground.
Do you have a swimming pool though ?
YEAH !! ... and it´s salt water !!!
