THE ALGARVES ORIGINAL SURF SCHOOL
After being here for 34 years, we are confident we have made the best and most enjoyable surf school in the Algarve. All abilities are very welcome, from absolute first-timers onwards.
A typical day starts at the main Surfhouse at 08:30, after a delicious homemade breakfast on the rooftop. We load the trucks and head out to the beach chosen by our instructors that morning. We're lucky to be able to teach on the quietest, friendliest and most beautiful beaches here in the Algarve.
On the beach we split surfers into groups based on ability, with individual one-on-one teaching whenever it's needed, and if your level and the conditions call for a different spot, we make that happen when possible. Liquid Dreams Forever!

I've never surfed before, is that OK?

Absolutely. All abilities are very welcome, from absolute first-timers onwards. We split surfers into groups based on ability, so you'll always be learning with people at your level — with one-on-one teaching whenever it's needed
What does a typical day look like?

Homemade breakfast on the Surfhouse rooftop, meet at 08:30, load the trucks and head to the beach our instructors choose that morning. Two 90-minute sessions either side of lunch, depending on tides and conditions.
How much time do I get in the water?

Typically two sessions of 90 minutes each day, either side of lunch — timed around the tides and conditions so you always get the best possible lesson with the conditions of the day.
Will the lessons actually move me forward?

That's the whole point: each day we work on your progression and taking you to the next step, standing up for the first time, catching your first green wave, or developing confidence and technique out the back. We aim for your individual goals, through enjoyment.
I'm only in Lagos for a day or two, can I still surf with you?

Yes - our day trip surf lessons are open to anyone, no overnight stay needed. If you're staying for a week, the surf school is at the heart of every Surf Experience week.
